Overview
Embark on an enchanting journey through Cornwall, where friendly locals, breathtaking landscapes, and rich culinary traditions await. As we traverse this captivating county, we explore charming fishing villages, hidden smuggler’s coves, and dramatic cliffs, all punctuated by countless pristine beaches and sweeping bays. In Devon, Dartmoor’s inspiring terrain beckons with expansive pastures, winding lanes, and picturesque thatched cottages. At the heart of the moor, wild, heather-covered hills beautifully contrast with the stark grandeur of granite tors.
Next, we venture into the picturesque landscapes of Normandy, renowned for its Calvados, Camembert, and cider. The region’s rolling green hills are a feast for the eyes, while Mont St Michel rises dramatically from the sea, showcasing some of the finest Gothic architecture in the world. Experience the incredible tides of the Bay of Mont St Michel, where fluctuations can reach up to 12 metres between high and low water. Witness the transformation as we walk barefoot across sandy banks to reach the “Mount,” where we will spend time exploring its historical treasures.
A short ferry ride from St Malo leads us to the inviting Channel Islands, primarily Jersey, Guernsey, and Sark. Upon arrival, you will be captivated by the islands’ strong insular identity. Although geographically part of England, the Channel Islands exude a distinctive character, often feeling even more British than the UK itself. With a mild climate, these islands are home to vibrant vegetable farms and lush gardens.
Our journey continues to Brittany, where a rugged coastline meets the roaring Atlantic Ocean. Marvel at massive granite headlands adorned with heath, leading back to sun-drenched forests and charming villages. The coastline, dotted with long sandy beaches, rivers, and hidden bays, surprises and delights at every turn. Finally, we explore Belle-Ile-en-Mer, surrounded by steep cliffs and the relentless waves of the Atlantic. Here, the surf crashes dramatically against the rugged rocks, creating a stunning spectacle of foaming spray and roaring waves.
